The Drama School at DAS is dedicated to excellence in the skills of Speech & Drama. All individual classes are conducted by Kim Gilbert whose experience and in depth subject knowledge results in students achieving an incredible success rate. As well as enhancing all aspects of literacy, her teaching methods lead to an overall improvement in self-confidence and are designed to improve general communication and conversation skills, so important in everyday life. At Dramatic Arts Studio we offer a range of drama classes leading to graded LAMDA examinations (the UK’s leading statutory speech and drama awarding organisation) in communication and performance subjects.  Kim has been a LAMDA Examiner for 8 years. Tuition is available at all grades, for all ages and abilities from a range of various related disciplines e.g Acting, Verse & Prose, Public Speaking, Reading for Performance, Shakespeare & Audition techniques. Support is also available for Drama School auditions and Drama scholarships.  DAS is a registered LAMDA examination centre, and our students have the opportunity to take their exams in a familiar environment. Kim is also an adjudicator for BIFF and enjoys adjudicating at local, national and International Arts Festivals. Public speaking for corporate businesses is also available on a 1:1 or small group basis.

Annual entry in the British Federation of Festivals (BIFF) is encouraged at the Bristol Festival of Music, Speech & Drama, the Mid-Somerset Festival, the Royal Wootton Bassett Festival and Devizes Eisteddfod.  As an experienced and knowledgeable teacher with over 35 years of teaching and professional acting experience, my students achieve excellent results in examination and competitive festival work. DAS students regularly gain high marks in their examination results, winning many first place trophies in competitive work and have successfully gained places in the National Youth Theatre and at accredited Drama Schools. DAS students have been offered 11 drama scholarships over the past 2 years at top independent schools. DAS students have had 7 nominations for the Bath Young Actor award. At Dramatic Arts Studio we pride ourselves on a 100% pass rate: Over 95% of which are Distinction.

Off street parking is available in the surrounding streets and there are several car parks in the local vicinity (Hathaway Retail Parks 2 hrs Free parking). The studio is located a convenient 4 minute walk from Chippenham BR station (11 mins from Bath, 14 mins from Swindon).
